Playmobil 70688 - Friedrich Schiller
Figure of famous German playwright Friedrich Schiller in contemporary dress with desk, quill, book and apple. Johann Christoph Friedrich Schiller is considered one of the most important German dramatists and lyricists. Born in 1759 as the only son of a Württemberg officer, he grew up with his five sisters in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Lorch and later in Ludwigsburg. Schiller first studied law and later medicine. His first drama, 'Die Räuber' (The Robbers), premiered in 1782, caused a sensation and made Schiller famous overnight. Together with Christoph Martin Wieland, Johann Gottfried Herder and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, he left his mark on Weimar Classicism. To this day, Schiller's plays are part of the standard repertoire of German-language theaters and his ballads are among the best-known German poems. Now the famous playwright is also available as a PLAYMOBIL figure, of course, with 18th century clothing, a desk with chair and quill, an apple and an open book showing the first page of his drama 'Wilhelm Tell'.
