Napoleon

History

Figure of the famous French commander and emperor Napoleon Bonaparte in uniform with a two-pointed hat and his white steed Vizir. The famous general and French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte was born in Corsica in 1769. Due to his military talent, he rose rapidly in the army during the French Revolution and finally came to power through a coup d'état. In 1804, he crowned himself emperor in a ceremony at Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral. During his reign, Napoleon initiated numerous reforms that still shape France's state structures today. After the disastrous outcome of the campaign against Russia, Napoleon's power waned and he was exiled first to the island of Elba and finally to St Helena, where he died in 1821. Now the Emperor of the French is making his way into the versatile PLAYMOBIL world as a PLAYMOBIL figure. The PLAYMOBIL Napoleon figure is inspired by 'The Battle of Austerlitz' painting by François Pascal Simon Gérard (1770-1837), and it represents the Emperor riding his faithful horse, Vizir.
